In a solo exhibition at Hexton Gallery, Rachel Garrard presented a collection of new paintings and a site-specific sculpture. The steel frame’s production was facilitated by Anderson Ranch in Snowmass, CO, and Garrard later assembled the sculpture to realize her creative vision using found objects from the surrounding landscape.
My approach to designing the exhibition materials for Garrard’s show was to create an ethereal and meditative experience, similar to how one would experience the show in-person. The process included a selection of fonts, print design, copywriting, and color choices.
My role in designing and installing wall vinyl for exhibitions begins with coordination with the curatorial team to pinpoint optimal wall vinyl placements. I then measure and digitally create mockups in Adobe Photoshop for approval from various teams. Collaborating closely with printers, I navigate the selection of colors and oversee the realization of the graphics. The culmination of this process is the hands-on installation of the wall vinyl. I work closely with the Gallery Director, utilizing the human eye to define the exact positioning of graphics and bringing the envisioned exhibition to life.
